Introduction:
The Bangladesh Institute for Professional Development (BIPD) is an Insurance Development Regulatory Authority (IDRA) accredited institute, established in 2015.It is incorporated as a legal entity under the Companies Act. The general objective of the BIPD is to promote human capital development through conducting training, research, education and other professional activities.

Why Career Development Program (CDP)?
Career development is directly linked to the goals and objectives set by an individual. It starts with self-actualization and self-assessment of one’s interests and capabilities. The interests are then matched with the available options in the job market.
CDP is required by our students and those who desire to join in the job market and those who need to train himself/herself to acquire the skills needed for the career path chosen by him/her. After acquiring the desired competency, s/he has to perform to achieve the goals and targets set by him/her be upscaling the skills needed for the career path chosen by him/her.
Career development course has been developed and designed for the participants to grow not only professionally but also personally.
An Important goal of this specially designed program is to develop learners’ communicative competence, interpersonal skills and presentation in skills for both academic as well as professional purposes.
Importance:
Career should be planned in a way that it moves forward. It provides the framework with skills, goals, awareness, assessment and performance which helps an individual to move in the right direction and achieve the goals one has in one’s career.
Individuals can themselves boost their own career through constant evaluation of their skills and using techniques by attending a unique training course of Skill Development. Repetitive efforts will definitely help in the career development for new entrants, juniors and aspiring students. This course provides a unique opportunity for the learners to take part in physical classroom (for seven days) along with online virtual classroom (for one months).
Participation in virtual classrooms besides the physical featured classrooms will help turn training into a more effective blend. Spontaneous and active participation, face to face conversation and question-answer sessions make physical featured classrooms lively whereas for exchanging meditated thoughts and ideas, sharing profound understanding and quenching thirst of deeper inquisition about a topic, virtual classroom can contribute a lot. The both arrangement actually make learning complete convenient and functioning soothe.

Certification:
The CDP has been divided in seven parts. Each part contains a full day engagement each week. In order to complete the program one has to undergo all the seven courses. Participation Certificate will be given to all participants after completion of each part. On Completion of all seven course modules; participants will get a certificate of “Associate of Career Development Program” (ACDP) to those who will enroll for Virtual/Online learning program for one months.

Methodology:
This course will be a blend of lecture and power point presentation along with group and open discussion. The focus would be on procedural knowledge by using the target items in communication. The approach will be communicative and interactive and will involve individual, pair and group work.
Registration:
Registration will start from o6 February 2020. The course will begin tentatively from 07 March 2020. On competition of first three sessions participants need to join in a Google Classroom Platform through a given code.

Mr. A.H. Mostofa Kamal Khan, Director, (BIM):
Mr. A.H. Mostafa Kamal Khan is an MA in Economics (DU) and MBA from USA. He is an international expert on Corporate Management and Leadership. He has 26 years of professional services at home and abroad.
Mr. Kamal has established himself as a top level trainer and management consultant through his services in a leading Management Training Institute. In the process few dozens of organizations both from public and private have been able to recognize his training courses as beneficial in improving performance.
Few thousand top and mid-level executives have improved their capacity by attending training courses conducted by Mr. Kamal. His international involvement includes countries like Japan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore etc.
Mr. Kamal is very well known for his participatory approach of training.
Mr. M. A. Salam, M.A. (Eng):
Managing Director & CEO, Provati Insurance Company Limited, hails from Bamna Upazila under Barguna district. He was born in 1956 in a venerable Muslim family. Brilliant throughout, Mr. Salam stood 1st in HSC Exam. From Jessore Board in 1974.He also stood 1stin his Master’s Degree in English Language & Literature from Dhaka University. He had served under Libyan Govt. as a Lecturer of English for 7 years and later he served Federal and Prime Insurance Companies in Underwriting, Claim & Reinsurance Departments. Presently, he teaches both Non-life Insurance & English Language at University, Insurance Academy and Bank Training Institutes. He actively participated in multifarious courses, seminars & workshops at home and abroad during his entire luminous career.
Mr. M A Wahab:
M A Wahab received M. Com. (with Honors in Finance) from Dhaka University in 1978 and completed Chartered Accountancy course from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh and Post-graduation in HR Management (PGDHRM) from Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM), Dhaka.
With more than 36 years’ practical experiences in senior level positions in policy making levels at various multinational and reputed national organizations like, Dhaka City College, CIBA-GEIGY, Swedish Match, Hamdard, Jamuna bridge project, Swisscontact, Navana, etc. now he keeps himself busy as a Facilitator and Coach of HR and Finance at Academy for Innovative Management (AIM), as the lead Consultant as well as free-lance Consultant.
He is a fellow of The Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), he was an EC member and member of Academic Council of IPM, Examiner of Dhaka University and part-time faculty of American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB) and a trainer of Rupali Bank Limited Training Institute
Mr Rashed Mamun, PMP, consultant and trainer:
Mr Mamun is a business professional, consultant and trainer with hands-on experience of managing million dollar projects with a strong focus on ICT, education, energy and social development sector projects in near about 10 countries where he has worked with more than 150 national and international esteemed consultants. His multi-disciplinary cross-cultural experience is extended to international consulting in multiple projects alongside the valued works in project management, business process enhancement, change management etc. Some of his key clientele are Department of Environment, National Board of Revenue, Asian Development Bank, World Bank, Agence Française de Development, USAID, Ceylon Electricity Board- Sri Lanka. He is also working as a management trainer aiming to enhance capacity of senior leaders to help them thrive in an emerging projectized economy. He is strongly committed to embed and practically utilize global management and leadership best practices while helping individuals achieve more profound impact on the society.
Liza Sharmin, Associate Professor, Daffodil International University:
Liza Sharmin has completed her B A (Hons.) and M A in English Literature and Language from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. She is an Associate Professor, Department of English, Daffodil International University. She had previously been teaching in the Department of English Language and Literature (as Senior Assistant Professor and Head) at Gono Bishwabidyalay (University) for fourteen years. Liza Sharmin is an adjunct faculty of Jahangirnagar University. She has been teaching English Literature, ESP and Linguistics to the students majoring in English. Her research area is Applied Linguistics and ESP. She has presented her papers in various national and international conferences. She is very interested in translation. Some of her translations were published in national dailies. She has published books on English Language and ESP, and research papers in academic journals.
Mr. Kazi Md. Mortuza Ali, Director General, BIPD:
Kazi Mohammad Mortuza Ali, MCom, LLB, now serving as Director General of Bangladesh Institute for Professional Development (BIPD). He is a qualified Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) London by examination and also a graduate in “Professional shipping” from Norwegian Shipping Academy Oslo. He served as CEO and chief consultation of Prime Islami Life Insurance Limited (PILIL), Dhaka during 2002 to 2018. He was Director (CEO) of Bangladesh Insurance Academy during 1995-2002. Before joining the Insurance Academy he served Bangladesh Shipping Corporation during 1974 to 1995 in different positions, including GM (Operation) DGM (marketing & Research) &A.G.M.(Insurance & Claims). Mr. Ali started his career as a Banker with Habib Bank Ltd of Pakistan and served Agrani Bank Ltd during 1970-1974.
